AFRICAN REVIEW TALKING TO ENERGYST’S COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR FRANK DE KONING
Having recently strengthened its technical and commercial teams in Africa, power and temperature control rental solutions provider Energyst has been adapting to the continent’s unique demands. Frank de Koning, Commercial Director for Energyst, discusses the company’s strategy for the African market in an interview with African Review during Africa Energy Forum 2016 in London.
Energyst’s history in Africa
In the interview Frank de Koning explains Energyst’s history in the African market, where the company has been active since 2008. With the opening of the Johannesburg office in South Africa in 2013, covering Sub Saharan Africa, and a logistical hub in Dubai, the company now has a solid presence on the African continent. A development that is reinforced by Energyst’s roots: being an official subsidiary of Caterpillar and its dealers, we work closely with CAT dealers across the continent.
Products & solutions for the African market
- Back-up power for e.g. load shedding;
- Emergency power in case of unplanned outages;
- Long term prime power for, among others, mining and utilities (IPP contracts or power purchase agreements).
Apart from these conventional power solutions, Energyst – together with our partner Caterpillar – sees the importance of renewable energy and has been developing innovative hybrid solutions like microgrids.
