On 1 June 2016, the Gibraltar Electricity Authority (Gibelec) and Energyst CAT Rental Power have agreed a renewal of the contract for the existing power plants in Gibraltar (UK) for at least another 18 months. Energyst has been providing power generation for several years to bridge the construction of a new permanent power station. You can read all about it in our case study, or watch the timelapse video of the construction of the first temporary power plant.

Energyst provides a total of 43 MW at 11 kV rental power generation capacity from two sites on the peninsula. These two power plants are located in North Mole and the South District. Power generation is provided by state-of-the-art Caterpillar diesel generators.

Our power generators have been a reliable source of power for Gibraltar’s electricity network up to now, and will continue to be so in the future.
