For our International Projects business, we are actively looking for an (Senior) Sales Engineer - International Projects

Your responsibilities

As Sales Engineer you are responsible to acquire new business opportunities in the African continent. Together with the IP Sales organization and the IP Director, you will play an important role in the exploration, expansion and growth of the IP market. Your perseverance, integrity and dedication will enable Energyst to build & strengthen long-lasting relationships. You create and define new ideas that may increase the efficiency of the sales revenue. You are working closely with the Operations team to supervise the commercial & operational risks of the IP projects.  Ensure lessons are learned from the sold projects to improve the customer satisfaction, as well the efficiency of the Operational team.

Main Duties

  • Maintain & expand the IP customer database
  • Acquire, expand and retain customers in the mining/utility sectors
  • Acquire new customers through appropriate proposals and ethical sales methods, and relevant internal liaison
  • Manage the customer relationships from A till Z
  • Work in partnerships with clients and engage key personnel in order to gain understanding of requirements and deliver top solutions
  • Gain understanding of the customers business and specific strategic needs, and how Energyst solutions fits in the context of their business
  • Assess, on an ongoing basis, the quality of delivery of solutions to address customers needs and propose improvement opportunities that increase customer satisfaction
  • Focal point of contact as sales representative for the IP customers, regardless of location.
  • Liaison between at one hand the internal Sales Support & Operations team and on the other hand the customer, during the complete Bit & Tender/ offer proposal process
  • Ensures smooth communication process with all relevant parties during the commercial offer phase.

Skills & knowledge

  • University/master degree, preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Solid experience of working in a Project Sales position
  • Vast experience and in-depth knowledge on the Energy and/or mining industry is desirable
  • Experience in opening new markets/ targeting new customers through active search & pro-active approach

Other relevant knowledge or skills 

  • Strong commercial insight
  • Has in depth knowledge of the English & French  language
  • Cross cultural awareness, respect for other cultures
  • Has excellent, influencing and relationship building skills 
  • Proven drive and ability to sell ideas/opportunities
  • Strong Project Sales and presentation skills
  • Good understanding / knowledge of P&L accounting
  • Strong strategic problem solving skills (comfortable with complex analysis)
  • Ability to work effectively in a complex environment
  • Good organiser 
  • Empathic
  • Understand and demonstrate marketing principles;
  • Product knowledge is desirable
